ON ARTISTIC ACTIVITIES

Recently, I had a tour of Denizli with my dear friend Hüdaverdi Otaklı, the Head of Tourism and Culture Department. A city journey starting from Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Handicraft courses and ending at DENMEK sales store... With these free courses opened all over the city, the women of Denizli develop their talents, have a pleasant time, and have the opportunity to find new interests and turn them into professions. Moreover, while improving their cultural and artistic knowledge, they can contribute to the family budget, produce and sell their products. Illumination, miniature, tile, ceramic, paper relief, wood painting, felt, kazaziye (silver jewelry art), Nah't (wood shaping), wire breaking, filography, needle lace, colorful accessories and designs made with silk cocoons, flower and art clay model work, trinket making, kitre dolls, kat'ı (paper carving), calligraphy, marbling, glass beads, carpet weaving, tokat work (stone printing), home textiles, sewing and clothing, ribbon embroidery, pique sewing and many other courses that I cannot remember. There are a mind-boggling variety of wonderful courses on arts I have never heard of. All of them in comfortable, cooled or heated halls, some in modern buildings, some in magnificent Denizli mansions that have been restored in accordance with the reality, the ladies of Denizli can socialize and learn by having fun. I regretted very much how I had never heard of it, how I had never noticed it. That's why I wanted to write here and share it with you, my dear readers. Nowadays, I insistently offer the above list to all my clients who are very bored, sad, demotivated, separated, abandoned, experiencing psychological problems, seeking medical support. I say; "there is surely an art that you will enjoy, first go around them all and start with what you like the most. You will start to heal from the first day and after a few weeks you will forget everything!". Hüdaverdi told me that while giving me practical artistic training, theoretically they also informed me deeply about all the developments from its history to the present day. Hüdaverdi Başkan explained that they are trained by the best in their field, and that they make a lot of effort to make it known to the people of Denizli, while on the other hand, he said that all courses have a certain number of student capacity, that they keep it limited and that the registrations are full well in advance. In addition, it is impossible to describe the sports courses offered in 14 different fields, the gyms and swimming pools where many sports such as swimming, pilates, zumba, archery, etc. are taught and practiced. I have just started at the Karahasanlı indoor swimming pool because it is 100 meters from my house. I don't like the pools even in big luxury hotels, I don't find them hygienic; you cannot enter the pool where slippers and everything are left outside, without taking a shower and passing through the antiseptic zone. They are incredibly serious and strict about this. When your allotted time is over, you can't even stay for more than a minute, so that the next people don't have to wait. We ended a very nice and enjoyable day at the DENMEK handicraft sales center. Next to the entrance gate of the old cinema in Çınar, this center is the center of attention for both local and foreign tourists. You can buy and touch unique handmade artworks for every budget and every taste. Since I didn't have time to examine each and every one of them, after a quick glance, I left with a wonderful lithographed tablecloth, despite my desire to buy them all... I thank dear Hüdaverdi Otaklı, a beautiful person and I say... I am glad you exist...
