SPRING CLEANING OF THE SOUL

"Clean your heart from the dust, rust and dirt of the world, and you will see many silver-skinned bodies there" (Hz.Mevlana). "Tawakkul" in Sufism, that is, to surrender oneself to existence, to leave oneself in the arms of existence, to transfer oneself to the nothingness and multiplicity of existence and to get rid of all weights. You know how spring cleaning is done at home? You know how nature is reborn in spring from its own essence, from its own nothingness and nothingness? The bald plants grow green again, the dry branches bloom again, the earth erupts in color, flower by flower, leaf by leaf? Come on! Let us also re-green and be reborn this spring, what do you say? Just like we die every night and are reborn in the morning. Just as we are born with every inhalation and die with every exhalation. Are you up for a cleansing of the soul this spring? From all fears, anger, obsessions, anxiety, panic attacks, jealousy, ambition, competition, tensions, past, future and all kinds of curiosities? I mean all this hell? Getting rid of all these weights and worries can only be possible through contemplation. If the Creator has breathed into us from His own breath and is closer to us than our own jugular vein, why all this worry? When He created the whole, He did not separate us from the other whole, He did not separate us from each other, He did not marginalize us. He made us a grain of sand in the whole, a drop in the ocean, a note in the concerto. Neither the whole is separate from us, nor we from the whole. The whole has plans for us, predetermined long in advance, but only with this knowledge and this understanding can we be liberated from this egoic hell and the bondage of the body. The distinction is only in our mind, just like time and space. The deep truth is our unity and oneness. Everything is part of the divine plan. Nothing that happens is outside of us. Everything created is precious and unique. Only we humans (nafs) label things that are pleasing to our ego as "good, beautiful, beneficial" and things that are unpleasant as "bad, ugly, worthless". Good and evil are in the minds of us creatures, for the Creator every creation is precious. Isn't "loving the created because of the Creator", as Yunus says, not looking for flaws in anything created, not looking for mistakes, and especially being like the night in covering up mistakes, an understanding unique to our Anatolian lands? Isn't believing in fate and surrendering to it a part of our faith? It would be a great lightness and peace to not take anything that happens personally, to realize that it is meant to improve and grow us, and to continue on our way with the awareness that all people and beings are our mirrors. Every person we are angry with, every person we are angry with, we are angry with ourselves. If we didn't have those feelings and emotions, if we didn't recognize whatever it is that makes us angry and rage, why would we be angry and rage anyway? Contemplating and staying in the flow for a whole lifetime, that's the essence of it. Like a huge boulder in the middle of a river. Sometimes with enthusiasm, sometimes with anger, sometimes gently, gently, gently, while the river flows, the boulder is always there. It just stands there. Sometimes other rocks, logs, pollution, other kinds of substances, hit it and it flows right and left, it doesn't stick to it. Why should it stick to us, what comes in the flow of life. We have to learn to receive and accept it. Even if instead of a rock, we could be a rose petal on the river, like the rose petal in the story of Yunus. If we could flow with the flow, flow with it through many forests and hills, melt in the oceans, neither overflowing with our presence nor upsetting the whole with our absence. It's time to erase all the photos in our heart mirror, untie the knots of the past and the future, realize that life is an illusion, see the machinations of the mind and the ego, open up and detoxify our soul. There is no other way to see our true selves, to realize that we are the spiritual beings we really are. Let's take off the masks, face ourselves, let's get rid of the illusion of the past and the future and dissolve our identities in the ocean of existence with the awareness that our cleansed state is not a personality but an individuality. With the awareness that we are now actors, let's establish new roles on the stage of life where we are each other's breath, peaceful and serene... Let us breathe... Let us be the breath... Let us be as He breathes...
