He promised to take her to work every morning and pick her up every evening. He believed and trusted that his wife would do it. Unable to withstand his insistence, she desperately accepted this proposal...

Months passed. The woman got used to her old job again. Her face began to smile again. Meanwhile, her husband made her another proposal: "Now you have to commute to work yourself. You can do it! "Again the woman resented, resented, resented, and finally accepted this proposal. It wasn't that she hadn't thought about it herself, but she didn't have the courage.

So every morning she would go to the bus stop herself, get on the bus, get off and go to work. In the evening she returned home in the same way.

One day the bus driver said to her: "I envy you, ma'am". The woman was surprised and asked why.

"Because every morning a young sailor gets on the bus right behind you, watches you the whole way without taking his eyes off you for a moment, crosses the road right next to you at the green light after you get off the bus, smiles and waves at you after you enter the building."

I have read Cengiz Erşahin's story, one of his "Stories that shape life", this sad but loving story about self-transcendence, many times. People can only keep each other alive by keeping each other alive and I think love is another name for keeping each other alive.
