The breath is what keeps us in this world, the vehicle through which our soul experiences this world. It is an exchange. Breath is the most important thing we have contact with the universe on the material plane. A miracle. A rebirth. Every exhalation is a death, every inhalation is a birth. Breath is a kind of return to factory settings.
Inhaling; oxygen and nitrogen, water vapor, carbon dioxide and many energy levels.
To give; to give back to the universe from our lungs.
But most of us breathe in and out just enough not to die. Sometimes we don't even breathe for minutes at a time.
Babies breathe ideally until the age of 3. Diaphragmatic breathing. Inflating their abdomen. At the age of 3, when they realize duality (fears, worries, expectations, habits, jealousies, genetic factors), they forget to breathe.
Even character analysis is now done by breath. Because we live the way we breathe. When the way we breathe changes, our thoughts, our view of life and our lives change.
In order to be happy, peaceful, healthy and free from the past, we need to learn proper breathing, breath awareness and breathing techniques.
So how to breathe correctly?
Breath should be taken from the diaphragm, not the chest.
It should be inhaled through the nose and exhaled through the nose or mouth.
Breathing should not be forced.
Breath should be inhaled like smelling flowers and exhaled like blowing fire.
With the use of the diaphragm, breathing should be done with the entire lungs.
Upper and lower breathing should be done together.
The number of breaths per minute should be minimized.
When inhaling, the abdomen should inflate first, then the entire lungs.
When exhaling, the abdomen should descend first, then the whole lungs.
Postures such as leaning forward, leaning back, slouching or hunching while sitting or standing negatively affect our breathing.
When we live fast, when we are in a hurry, when our spirit is distanced from our essence, we cannot breathe properly. Even to look at our essence, we need to breathe correctly...
When the Aborigines walked for a while, they would sit down and rest. They thought that the physique was going, the spirit could not keep up and they waited for their spirit to come back.
Continuous mouth breathing invites many diseases. For health, the air going to the lungs must be clean. Experts recommend breathing through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. The filter, humidification and heating mechanisms in the nose ensure that the air is sterile and at the appropriate temperature.
So what is the diaphragm?
Diaphragm; The name given to the muscle that separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity. It is a crescent-shaped spongy muscle tissue above the internal organs under the rib cage. Diaphragmatic breathing opens blocked negative emotions and blockages in our body and helps us to be free from emotional traumas.
It provides oxygenation of the abdominal organs and intestines, stomach, liver. Thus, we apply a sweet massage to the intra-abdominal organs. By stimulating the circulation of the organs with this massage, we ensure that they are nourished healthily and remove harmful wastes. The best detox method is actually diaphragmatic breathing.
The internal and external organs, skin, hair and eyes of people who use correct breathing techniques stay younger and healthier.
They do not suffer from fatigue, insomnia, irritability and absent-mindedness as sufficient and high quality oxygen is delivered to the brain. Because the brain uses 70 percent of the oxygen we take in. If we don't breathe correctly, not enough oxygen is delivered to the lungs and brain.
Now I present you a breathing technique taught by my dear teacher, transformational breathing coach and breathing trainer Selda Kurtulmuş Çakır;
The 4-breath technique is used in moments of anger, jealousy, resentment, sudden stress, fight, crisis. Immediately go to a place where you can be alone, where you will not be disturbed. This can be a toilet, a bathroom. Sit on the toilet bowl. Count on your fingers so as not to occupy your mind.
Close your eyes, fill the diaphragm with breath by counting to 4, count to 4 with your fingers and hold the breath inside you, exhale through the mouth while counting to 4, stay to 4 with the empty diaphragm you exhaled before inhaling again. So inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4. Do this 20 times...
Come out and say where were we? Because now your energy and vibration will have changed. Your perspective on events and people will have changed.
As Kanuni said; "There is no state in the world like a breath of health..."
